About Better built truss

The origins of Better Built Truss (BBT) date back to 1964 when it was established as Durabilt Truss Inc. In 1996, Jeff Qualle joined as General Manager with an ambitious plan to grow the company. After five years of sustained growth, it was acquired by Universal Forest Products in 2001. In 2011, Qualle acquired the business and relocated the company to Ripon, California. In 2021, BBT acquired Inter Mountain Truss in Oakdale and now between both facilities employs more than 150 people. 

Better Built Truss was acquired by US LBM in May 2024, joining forces with Homewood and Meek’s locations throughout Northern California.

Building without limits

Utilizing our state-of-the-art indoor facility, BBT specializes in building engineered wooden roof and floor trusses for high production Single and Multi-Family Residences that accounts for over 85 percent of our customer base. The other 15 percent is in our custom and commercial partnerships
